Cervical Smears

You can book an appointment for a smear test with a nurse.

Child/Baby Health

Child immunisation appointments can be made with the nurse at any time to suit you.  If your child is unwell please contact us and speak to a doctor during normal surgery hours.

After you have had your baby, we will send you an invite for your baby’s six week check and offer you an appointment for your post natal check. 

Contraception including IUD insertions

Please speak to the doctor or see the practice nurse by appointment, to discuss the best options for you.

Counselling for Adults & Children

The doctors and nurses can refer you to a counsellor or clinical psychologist at the practice or to an external agency if that is more appropriate. Adults can self refer to iCope  https://www.icope.nhs.uk/self-referral/

Drug Rehabilitation & Alcohol Support Service

The practice has a drugs advice worker to support patients who want to discuss recreational drug use. Initial assessments may not take place on the premises but follow-up can be provided here for your convenience.

The practice offers an alcohol advisory service to support patients with a drink problem or with a partner with a drinking problem, irrespective of age, sex or sexuality.

Please ask the doctor or practice nurse if you want to be referred to one of these services.

Diabetic Clinic

Regular clinics are held for diabetic patients.  You will be seen by one of our practice nurses.

Dietician

Please ask the doctor or practice nurse if you want to be referred to this service.  You can also self-refer, ask at reception for a form. 

Health Checks

We encourage all new patients to have a new patient health check within 2 weeks of registering. If you are over 65 please make an appointment with the practice nurse for your health check.

Minor Surgery

We undertake a variety of minor surgical procedures, for example the removal of warts.

Podiatry

This service is provided on the premises.  If you are over 60 or diabetic please ask reception for a self-referral form. Other patients need to be referred by their doctor or practice nurse. Self-referral can be made via:

Practice Nurse Services

These include: Travel health advice & vaccinations, advice on diet, stopping smoking, exercise, cervical smears, blood tests, stitch removal, ear syringing, dressings, contraception and pre-conceptual counselling.

Smoking Cessation

There is a weekly one to one clinic on Tuesday afternoon from 14:00 – 17:00; contact our smoking cessation advisor for an appointment. 

At other times you may book an appointment with our practice nurse.
