Instructions for City Road Medical Centre Patients – What This Means For You:

If you have a new continuous cough, AND / OR a temperature over 37.8C, or loss or change to sense of taste or smell – then you are now considered likely to have coronavirus.

This does NOT mean that you need a test.

You are advised to assume you have it, and self-isolate at home for 10 days after the symptoms start. After this time you can continue with your normal activities even if you still have a cough. If you have not had any signs of improvement after 10 days and have not already sought medical advice, use NHS111 online before leaving your home or letting visitors in.

If you DON’T feel unwell

You do not need to contact 111 or your GP but you DO need to self-isolate, for most healthy people Covid-19 will be just like any other viral cough/cold illness. Please do NOT visit your GP/Pharmacy/hospital and stay at home for 10 days.

If you DO feel unwell and are concerned:

Follow the guidance at https://111.nhs.uk/covid-19 or call 111 (using the website is preferable due to the high-demand for phone calls)

If you are feeling more unwell and still feel concerned that you need help after using the 111 services, call us for a telephone or video assessment.

What This Means for City Road Medical Centre

All our appointments with GPs will be booked as telephone or video appointments. We will only see patients face to face after a telephone or video assessment has occurred.

The surgery doors are open, if you are attending for a pre-arranged face to face appointment or for collection of a prescription etc. please wear a mask for your own protection and that of our staff.

Covid-19 is now a global problem. We have always considered ourselves very fortunate at City Road to have a cooperative and appreciative patient population. Covid-19 will require the cooperation of our whole community, and appreciate your support enormously, both to help us, and to help each other.
